This is a setting of a text by Kathryn Mahad, a writer and professor at Ithaca College. The text is the monologue of a character named Hiram Stowe. This text was selected and set specifically for Adam Strube, the bass on the recording.
This short song was written for vocalist Diana Yourke. The text is by Emily Dickinson and the setting tries to capture the mysterious nature that is invited by the poem. This recording is from Roseanna Cyr’s senior voice recital at Mt. Holyoke College.
